Electrical Project Estimator

Omni Electric LLC was started in 1997 by Greg Sottong. Greg started Omni to bring superior service to the commercial and industrial building sectors that were otherwise being underserved. The Electrical Project Engineer/Estimator plays an integral role in the project management process at Omni Electric LLC. The ideal candidate will balance a lot of responsibilities while ensuring project budgets and scope of work descriptions are accurately depicted to our commercial, industrial, and agricultural clients. This position will hold the following responsibilities:

  • Able to perform electrical estimating for commercial, agricultural, and industrial projects with software including Conest and Vision estimating software

  • Being self-motivated and ensuring project estimation and administration is efficient and on-time

  • Having a sales mindset, focused on project sizes from $50,000 - $10,000,000

  • Determining the amount, type, and cost of materials and fixtures needed for each electrical project.

  • Determining the amount of labor required to complete each project.

  • Work with foremen and management to ensure the timely execution of client projects

  • Proving viable solutions to increase project profitability.

  • Preparing, completing, and submitting competitive project bids in accordance with established guidelines as well as participating in bid review meetings.

  • Regularly updating cost databases to accurately reflect fluctuating material and labor costs. 

  • Negotiating with the suppliers and vendors for pricing on materials.

  • Keep up to date on local building codes.

The ideal candidate possesses the following experience, licensing, or education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Finance, or related field

  • A minimum of five years of commercial, industrial or agricultural electrical experience or related industry experience

  • A minimum of one to two years of sales experience preferred

  • Maintain a valid driver’s license

  • Deemed insurable by our company’s insurance

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Conest, and Vision estimation software

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

This position is a full-time position (Monday - Friday) and is a salary position with full benefits: health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.
