Commercial / Industrial Electrician

The Commercial Electrician role at Omni Electric performs installations, alterations, additions, and/or repairs of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment within the commercial, agricultural, and industrial industries.
The main responsibilities of this position are:
Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems and equipment in an industrial environment.
Perform preventative maintenance routines to ensure the ongoing functionality of electrical systems and machinery.
Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to determine the layout of wiring and electrical components.
Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system components.
Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers, circuit breakers, switches, relays, and control systems.
Collaborate with other professionals, such as engineers and maintenance technicians, to ensure effective communication and coordination during installation and repair projects.
Adhere to safety standards and protocols to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents or injuries.
Keep abreast of advancements in electrical technology and industry best practices to enhance job performance and efficiency.
The ideal candidate for the Commercial/Industrial Electrician position has the following education and experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an apprenticeship program or technical training in electrical systems preferred.
Proven experience as an Industrial Electrician or similar role in an industrial setting.
Comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems, components, and safety regulations.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to work in various environmental conditions, including heights, confined spaces, and extreme temperatures.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
This position is a full-time position (Monday - Friday) and is an hourly position with full benefits: health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.
